Our home of Spicer, MN is a delightful community located on the shores of Green Lake, in the heart of the Little Crow Lakes Region, 99 miles west of Minneapolis / St. Paul.

City of New London, Minnesota

Located 5 miles north of Spicer, the city of New London has a vibrant downtown with several unique shops offering Spa services, men’s, women’s and children’s clothing along with gifts, crafts, craft supplies, floral and candy. We also have a variety of restaurants to chose from, sure to please any appetite.

Spring & Summer

Enjoy hiking in Sibley State Park, climb to the top of the observation tower on Mount Tom and enjoy splashing in the warm waters at the beach. Or if water sports is more appealing to you enjoy everything Green Lake or any of our other local lakes has to offer. Take a few hours to go boating, splash & swim at the local beaches or enjoy your hand at fishing.

  • On Fridays in the summer watch or be a part of the thrilling races at the BMX track. BMX racing will certainly give you that rush of adrenaline whether you are racing or watching from the sidelines. Watch as racers speed around the track towards obstacles, take deep turns and master big air from jumps; this sport is unlike any other you have experienced.
  • Enjoy the latest performance at The Barn Theater.
  • Whether you have kids or a kid at heart Big Kahuna Fun Park offers hours of fun for everyone from bumper boats, two Go-Kart tracks, mini-golf, a PowerWheels course and arcades.
  • Off the water Spicer and the surrounding area offer wonderful golf courses for beginners to pros.

Sibley State Park

Sibley State Park offers something for everyone. Enjoy 20 miles of hiking trails, take in the view from the observation tower at Mount Tom and enjoy swimming, boating and fishing on Lake Andrew.

Big Kahuna Fun Park

Nestled near Green Lake Big Kahuna Fun Park offers family fun for everyone. With 2 Go-Kart tracks, bumper boats, mini-golf, PowerWheels course and arcade there is something for everyone. Open daily Memorial-Labor day, call ahead for weekend hours out of season.

Goat Ridge Brewing Company – New London

Locals and visitors love this local taproom. While you savor your pint of beer enjoy board games, grab a book from the library or enjoy the riverfront garden. Carry in food or get food delivered to the brewery.

Green Lakes BMX

BMX racing with give you a rush of adrenaline as you watch the racers battle deep turns, downhill sections, and clear big jumps.

Little Crow Water Ski Team

Little Crow Water Ski Team is quite a local tradition that started in 1979. At their shows you will enjoy jumps, barefooting, ballet lines, pyramids and so many more tricks. We suggest getting there early to get a ticket, bleachers fill quickly; shows run most Fridays June-August.

Island Pine Golf Course – Atwater

This signature par 3, 18 hole is a beautiful island green with natural wetlands and boasts the largest greens in the area.

Eagle Creek Golf Club – Willmar

This 18-hole course is situated between two lakes. Eagle Creek offers stunning views with rolling hills, ponds and waterways with a creek that winds through the entire course.

Hawk Creek Raymond Golf Course

This beautiful course was built to challenge experienced golfers but also work for beginners as well. Enjoy the full-size driving range, putting green and clubhouse and 36 par, 9-hole course.

Fall

In late summer and early fall enjoy fresh picked apples at the Jimmy Appleseed Orchard located at Glacial Ridge Winery. While you are there enjoy the winery to taste the most recent wine.

Take a scenic drive among the foliage to see the changing of the fall leaves. In particular visit the Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center, Sibley State Park or drive along the Glacial Ridge Trail Scenic Byway. For most up to date fall color check out the Minnesota DNR website.

Glacial Ridge Winery is located on a 800 tree apple orchard and offers a unique Barrel Room, Tasting Room or beautiful patios to lounge and relax while enjoying any of their unique Minnesota Wines.

Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center

The center offers environmental education and recreation for children through adults and features 500 acres of rolling glacial terrain, 7 miles of hiking and cross county ski trails, prairie, woods and wetlands. Visit the Danielson farmsite that is more than 100 years old. During the snowy months rent cross country skis or snowshoes to discover more of the scenic terrain.

Brouwer Berries – Raymond

Choose between pre-picked or ‘you-pick’ at this local strawberry farm. With 5 acres of strawberries in 8 different varieties we know your family will love fresh grown Minnesota Strawberries; there is nothing sweeter! Call or check their website for in-season availability.

Winter

In the winter enjoy miles of trails at Sibley State Park or Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center. See the sights by cross country skiing, renting snowshoes or just hiking in the snow. The Spicer and surrounding areas are a snowmobilers personal playground with fresh Minnesota powder and miles of trails to explore. After a day of winter fun relax with a cup of soup or a big mug of hot chocolate at one of our local cafes or enjoy the Hampton Inn’s indoor fireplace.
